If you have sustained an injury or illness while on the job you should expect the following services from your claim professionals, the medical provider, and your supervisor.

Claim Professionals should:
  • Contact you within 24 hours of notice of your injury if you begin to lose time from work
  • Review the circumstances of your injury
  • Explain what workers' compensation benefits you may be entitled to in your state
  • Provide contact information for medical or claim related questions
  • Explain what you should do if you receive a bill from the doctor or hospital
  • Assist in developing your return-to-work plan
  • Send you a letter acknowledging the receipt of your claim and directing you to appropriate medical benefits
  • Return your phone calls promptly
Medical Providers should:
  • Coordinate medical treatment, including scheduling
  • Provide medical information to Travelers in order to establish timely and appropriate medical benefits
  • Understand the physical requirements of your job in order to assess your ability to return-to-work
  • Address your capability for return-to-work
  • Provide you with a medical release to your job based on your return-to-work plan
Supervisors should:
  • Promptly report your injury to your organization's workers' compensation carrier
  • Provide the workers' compensation carrier with the circumstances of your injury
  • Answer questions you have regarding your company's policy & procedures
  • Assist in developing your return-to-work plan
